![]() ![]() If you check the minimum specs for Adobe Premiere they are pretty much the same. Might the client be happier with an 8-bit video, at only 480p / 8mbps, if it costs only $5k? The creator's profit margin on the latter, relative to human-hours, might also be higher. My guess is that a small commercial project (30 second ad for small company site) would have to yield at least $25k, to justify the added work, whose enhancements might be invisible to the typical viewer. Do the words, You're going to need a bigger boat, echo in your mind?.Do you save or dump your source or intermediate files from a 10-bit project? if saved, how much disc space consumed?.How much bandwidth needed for smooth playback of any 4k content rendered as 60p?.How much time or disk space use do the use of proxy files add to the task?.Must you use proxy files or low res preview settings to avoid hangs or other indigestion?.How much 4k 10-bit video (30p or 60p) can one put on a timeline, and grade or add advanced edits (key-frame, green screen, etc.) before the computer gets sluggish or hangs.Same question if one renders 4k 8-bit or 4k 10-bit to 1080p 8-bit at 20 mbps or lower for YT or other purposes compatible with most viewers' playback support.What is the render time (frames per second) of 4k 8-bit and 4k 10-bit, respectively?. ![]()
